Message	ring friction surface. The screws that hold the insert to the rest of the flywheel are countersunk into the insert, the same way the inserts on the RPS FW are. I do agree that the RPS is better because the segmented design keeps the srufaces from warping. Also, I stripped out one of the mounting holes on my Fidanza - the RPS has steel helicoil threads already so you won't strip out the soft aluminum. Both flywheels drive the same - I didn't have to adjust my driving style when I switched from the Fidanza to the RPS. Rule #1 - There's always a bastard!
